JPEG Saver 6

« Return to JPEG Saver page

JPEG Saver 6 is the first version to drop support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 - and that is the main reason for the version number bump from 5 to 6. The later version 5.x releases probably didn't work on Windows 7 either, but that wasn't deliberate.

The biggest actual change in version 6 is how options are loaded and saved. Before now all options looked like this:

option: value

Now they can look like this as well:

option/suffix: value

This was done to support per-display options, meaning that quite a few of the options that JPEG Saver supports can be overridden for specific monitors or windows. There is now a new dialog where you can configure all these overrides, opened using the “D+” button in the “Position/Resize” tab of the config dialog.

Bugs, problems, suggestions

I would be really happy if there were no bugs, but they do continue to skitter through my testing and find their way into the released versions. If you come across anything that seems like a bug, or just have suggestions for improvements, please contact me at the usual email address: graham (at symbol) goat1000.com.
