Bully Beer Game On Session Lager

I've picked up a few strange beers lately, and this has to be one of the strangest. A beer based on the mascot of a 1980's low budget TV game show has to be worth trying.

Details

From the website:

Light, crisp and sessionable. Expect subtle malt sweetness balanced with a gentle hop bite. Brewed for those “Game On!” moments, whether you’re throwing darts, cheering on the telly, or raising a glass with friends.

Expectations

Honestly, I'm expecting a generic lager. As long as it is drinkable I'll be happy.

Experience

It's a very pale yellow, sort-of straw colour. There isn't really any head on top, but there are some quite large bubbles in the beer.

The smell is quite sweet, like a nondescript fizzy drink, with a hint of yeast.

The taste is also a little bit sweet and a bit malty. It isn't bad, but it isn't brilliant either.

To my great relief this stuff is drinkable, but it didn't exceed my lowly expectations.

Verdict

3/5 : It's alright, but a bit bland.
