Bully Beer Bullseye Lager
Why just produce one beer based on the mascot of a 1980's low budget TV game show when you can do two? Does it taste any different to the other one?
Details
- Lager, 4% ABV
- 330ml can
From the website:
Bully Beer – a crisp, light, easy-drinking craft lager that’s perfect for match nights, pub sessions, or just kicking back with your mates. Every sip is a super, smashing, great British brew — bold, refreshing, and brewed with 100% British Challenger and First Gold hops.
Expectations
The other Bully Beer was OK, so I expect this one to be similar. I just want some refreshment right now, and I think this will work. The alcohol content is a bit higher in this beer, so it is not just the same stuff in another can.
Experience
It's a pale yellow, a bit cloudy, with lots of quite large bubbles that don't quite form a head. So far it seems quite similar to the other beer.
There isn't much smell. I can't really smell it at all. That worries me - either this beer doesn't smell or I've got Covid.
Thankfully, the taste of the beer is actually pretty good. It's quite a mild taste, a bit sweet, a little bit bitter, slightly hoppy. It really isn't a strong taste though, which goes some way to explaining the lack of smell.
This beer surprised me, because I quite like it. I can't really put my finger on why, though it is really easy to drink.
Verdict
4/5 : A pleasant, refreshing lager with no frills. And no smell.
